Kelly-Logo

I heard of one more concert in Berlin and I was sooo happy, because concerts here are always special. Especially when I think about this on 3.7.99 with Jimmy.
I invited one of my pen pals to visit me here. So that we could meet each other personally for the first time and go to the concert together. It was a great concert. We had lots of fun and I hope all the others, did too?! At the beginning the curtain fell to the floor and out came 8 happy Kelly's onto the stage. Kathy did not attend this concert. Barby started by playing the Keyboards. Jimmy was there, too!!! *ggg*
Barby looked so sweet with her 2 plaits. The first song they started with was "I feel love." The next song that follows was "Rock´n´Roll stole my soul" with "Jimmy time" :-). Now it was Barby´s turn with "Hooks" and before she sang it she said: "Thanks for standing in the cold of the Alexanderplatz!" Patricia came in front of the stage and announce to the crowd that "Berlin was very special for them". "About 10 years ago we played on the Alexanderplatz in East Berlin, but also in West Berlin on the Ku´damm. My little sister Maite was born here". Tricia began to sing "Happy birthday" and the fans joined in with her too. Then she announced ...guess! :-) Of course! She announced Waldemar and the Aids foundation.
Patricia, John, Maite and Joey sang "The Rose." I was so happy to hear this song again :-) Maite said: "Now I am not a teenager anymore." And Barby asked her if she didn't like to be a teenager. That song was one of my highlights! Oh, I had lots of highlights :-)
The song "Stay beside me" performed by Jimmy and Joey sounds extremely good. Paddy said: "It´s nice to be in Berlin again, it's seems like our 2nd home town, nearly our first. We spend many December months here. Now we wanna sing for you some songs from our album that was sold here 3,5 Mio times – "Over the hump". So we present the song for you "Key to my heart". Barby sang "Break free" like she did in the streetlife times .... with "yeah yeah yeah" and the middle part was a short rap of Angelo. Then came the song "Every baby" followed by "Why why why" and everyone was screaming and singing with Joey and Paddy. Then they sang the song "First time." Followed by one more great Streetlife song, "When I was in town". I think all the fans liked it, because they clapped their hands to the beat of this song. "Let it be" with Jimmy, John, Joey, Paddy and Angelo was also really powerful.
Every time when they sang "Good neighbor" at the concert the atmosphere around was always great. Of course all the fans were dancing and singing "ho hey hey". Then Paddy forgot his text and we all were laughing. He played the banjo at "Oh Susanna" and was singing sooo fast ...
Angelo said: "You have a nice new concert hall, okay ... she's new for us." And then he sang "I´ll be your bride". Before the break he sang the German song "Flugzeuge im Bauch" from Herbert Grönemeyer.
"I came down to see you, but you were never there ... Thunder bloody bloody thunder ... gonna let noooooooooobodyyy looooooooove ..." Jimmy said "pssssst" till everybody was quiet and then "you you you ...". "Hallelujah" – Is one of my favorite songs. Joey performed a good show! Maite sang Kathy´s part in "Children of Kosovo".
Before she started to sing "Crazy", Barby said again something to the fans and like in streetlife times John sang in the background :-)
"Out in the fields, where farmers grow bread, when called for the meal ... fell in love with an alien ...".
Okay, now let's sing Spanish ...
"Get into the fever, forget about the siesta, un dos tres, we're gonna take off to the sky, baby yeah ... Hecho un limón a rodar, hecho un limón a rodar, y a tu puerta se paró, ay ay ... ..." John forgot his text when he sang "When the boys come into town" and he and Maite were laughing all the time and couldn't stop ... ...all the girls go crazy ... and John, too :-)
Before "Every baby" Maite said: "I came a little bit closer to you. The next song is a ballad and I wanna dedicate it to my mom ...". "One more song" and Paddy played the piano. Jimmy and Patricia sang together "Please don't go". It was so emotional and they danced with each other. It seems to me that she didn't like his hat. So she went over to Jimmy took his hat and threw it away :-) This song was my big highlight at the concert! You can see that they both have a big bond with each other. And then they sang the song "The Wolf" – so let's rock!
Paddy said before they started the unplugged part: "Now we'll sing some songs like we do at home and it's called unplugged." They all were sitting in front of the stage on chairs and Maite started with "I wish I were a swallow". The next was John's song "I really love you" and Barby danced during this song in front of her brothers and sisters :-) Jimmy sang the last part of "Nanana" and the other Kelly's were going behind the curtain and he said to us: "Let's hear you sing". But we were not loud enough and he meant: "You're totally in confusion! We have to start again!" And so we sang it again. Jimmy: "Now comes Angelo wis his drums. He's really good, but don't forget – I'm a better drummer!" – so that was one more joke of Jimmy. Angelo played a super drum solo, but he meant that we didn't cheer enough for him. So he behaved as if he was affend by the crowd. He acted as he wanted to leave the stage, but Jimmy pushed him back :-)
The next was "Proud Mary" with Barby, Maite and Patricia. Patricia wore a short black skirt. The 3 girls made a great show and Barby´s part was really strong. What should I say? You have to hear it!!! The middle part was "It's all right". The Xmas special was "White Christmas", "One more happy christmas" and "Jingle bells". Patricia, Joey and Paddy put on Santa Claus-caps and threw CD's, postcard sets and other things into the crowd. The songs "Take my hand", "Mama" with John and Paddy in front of the stage and "I can't help myself" were the last songs!
That's what we thought. But they suprised us with singing one more song on stage! All together they sang the last song of the evening. It was "If I should fall behind" by Bruce Springsteen. With all the sheets of text/notes. They all sang one verse and it was a great final song for the end of a wonderful concert. That was the end. We all thought What a pity! And so I was looking forward to the next time they would came and perform another concert:-)
